Terms and Conditions

Legacy Preparatory Basketball Academy is a not-for-profit basketball academy based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Participation in Legacy Preparatory Basketball Academy does not guarantee any athlete a scholarship, financial assistance, or direct post-secondary placement. Our commitment is to provide a platform for training, exposure, and skill development through game time and access to competitive play. However, Legacy Preparatory Basketball Academy is not liable for individual player performance or outcomes related to post-secondary recruitment. We reserve the right to make decisions regarding playing time, rotations, and player roles as deemed appropriate by the coaching staff. Participation in each game or event is not guaranteed for every player.

Conduct and Dismissal Policy

At Legacy Preparatory Basketball Academy, we hold our athletes to high standards both on and off the court. Any behavior deemed disruptive or disrespectful toward coaches, teammates, staff, spectators, or the general public may result in disciplinary action. If a player’s conduct continues to disrupt the program, Legacy Preparatory Basketball Academy reserves the right to dismiss the athlete from the academy without refund. In the event of dismissal, all outstanding payments remain due. Non-compliance with these policies may also result in legal action to recover unpaid fees.

Enrollment and Payment Policy

To secure a place in Legacy Preparatory Basketball Academy’s program, a non-refundable deposit must be submitted. This deposit becomes non-refundable after five business days. All tuition payments are due on the 1st of each month starting August 1, or as otherwise specified. A late fee of 10% will apply to any payment not received within five days. Failure to pay tuition for 30 days or more may result in suspension from the program or dismissal from Legacy Preparatory Basketball Academy, at which point the athlete may not be permitted to return.Legacy Preparatory Basketball Academy is not a school and does not offer formal academic instruction. Any educational support, such as tutoring or guidance, is provided through third-party providers and is separate from our athletic programming.

Travel and Accommodation Policy

Legacy Preparatory Basketball Academy’s tuition may not cover all expenses associated with travel, events, or tournaments. Costs such as airfare, accommodations, and meals may require additional fees. Athletes are expected to pay for their own meals and any personal expenses incurred during travel unless otherwise specified. Legacy Preparatory Basketball Academy will communicate the details of any inclusions or exclusions for specific events, and any questions regarding expenses should be directed to the administration. Legacy Preparatory Basketball Academy does not bear responsibility for food, lodging, or other accommodations unless explicitly provided.

Housing Policy

Housing for Legacy Preparatory Basketball Academy athletes is provided with the expectation that all residents will respect shared living spaces, neighbors, and house rules. A non-refundable move-in fee of $500 applies to all athletes residing in Legacy Preparatory Basketball Academy-provided housing. House rules include:

• Respecting noise limits, especially after 9 p.m.
• Maintaining cleanliness in common areas and personal spaces
• Respecting roommates and property
• Prohibiting fighting or any form of physical altercation
• Ensuring that any guests are informed of and adhere to house rules

In cases of damage or misuse of property, the responsible athlete will be held financially accountable. Legacy Preparatory Basketball Academy reserves the right to remove any athlete from housing should they repeatedly violate these terms.

Food Policy

Legacy Preparatory Basketball Academy athletes are encouraged to purchase their own food according to their dietary needs. For convenience, Legacy Preparatory Basketball Academy provides access to basic pantry items, including but not limited to:

• Pasta and sauces
• Cereal
• Pancake and waffle mix
• Seasonings
• Bread, eggs, and staple cooking essentials

Legacy Preparatory Basketball Academy does not supply meat, snacks, or drinks as part of the pantry. Athletes may choose to join an optional meal plan for a weekly fee (approximately $20–$25), which allows a pooled selection of agreed-upon items. Any unused contributions will go toward group meals, buffets, or outings.Deep frying or excessive oil use is not permitted in Legacy Preparatory Basketball Academy-provided housing due to safety protocols. Legacy Preparatory Basketball Academy does not provide food or meals during travel or tournaments unless specifically stated.

Drug and Alcohol Policy

Legacy Preparatory Basketball Academy maintains a strict drug-free and alcohol-free environment. The use, possession, or distribution of drugs or alcohol by athletes is strictly prohibited. Legacy Preparatory Basketball Academy reserves the right to conduct drug testing if there is reasonable suspicion of substance use. Any violation of this policy will result in disciplinary action, which may include dismissal from the program without a refund.

Hotel Policy

When traveling for tournaments and events, Legacy Preparatory Basketball Academy athletes are expected to conduct themselves responsibly in hotels. This includes refraining from loud noises, cleaning up after themselves, avoiding hallways for social gatherings, and adhering to hotel policies. Any inappropriate behavior or property damage in hotel facilities will be the responsibility of the athlete and may result in additional charges and/or disciplinary action by Legacy Preparatory Basketball Academy.

Liability and Waiver

By enrolling in Legacy Preparatory Basketball Academy, the athlete and/or parent/guardian acknowledges that participation in sports and athletic training carries inherent risks. Legacy Preparatory Basketball Academy does not assume liability for any injury sustained during training, games, travel, or other academy-related activities. Athletes and their families are responsible for securing their own health and travel insurance. Legacy Preparatory Basketball Academy also does not bear responsibility for any academic outcomes, college recruitment results, or any post-secondary opportunities.

Agreement

By joining Legacy Preparatory Basketball Academy, athletes and their families agree to the terms and conditions outlined here. The responsible party acknowledges financial responsibility for all tuition and fees, as well as compliance with the policies in place. These terms are legally binding, and failure to adhere to them may result in dismissal from the academy, loss of privileges, or further legal action to recover owed fees.If any part of these Terms and Conditions is deemed invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply in full force.
